Bio Artist Designer Author Publisher The Crew
Christopher Howe was born in Alberta, Canada. He grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and Glastonbury, Connecticut. With help from the New England Board of Higher Education he attended the Massachusetts College of Art where he studied Chinese ink painting and ceramics. Two exchange programs in college lead him to study at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China after receiving his BFA. In China Mr. Howe studied ink painting and ceramics. His work earned a Trustee's Merit Scholarship to the graduate program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He currently lives and teaches in Chicago.
In 1995 Mr. Howe also founded ALARM Press, a small company designed to publish ALARM Magazine . The magazine grew from a small community of New England readers to a nationwide following of over 40,000. The magazine is widely influential in the music & art communities. Mr. Howe continues to oversee the magazine.
